It’s a network of engineers at Citadel. Through NXT, we hire high-performing engineers who have two to five years of commercial experience looking to transition into the finance industry. Engineers are hired directly onto teams across all of Citadel’s engineering functions, from “front office” strategies, including our quantitative strategies, to our business operations teams.
For the first two years, engineers in NXT can take advantage of technical and professional skills development aimed to help accelerate their careers at the firm.
It’s not a program for new graduates. It’s also not a rotational program.
Your role doesn’t change. You simply become a NXT alumni. You do have the option of mentoring incoming NXTers and/or participate in career panels and select events.

Prior finance knowledge isn’t a requirement, but we do seek engineers who have a genuine interest in learning the space and solving real-world commercial problems. In other words, they should want to apply their skills to our business.
